Bad Mommy moment

Last night I decided to actually do some cleaning while I was waiting for Eric to come home from the temple. I was clearing my nightstand and Miriam was playing behind me on the bed and was very squirmy. I went to run into the next room to throw away some stuff thinking just a second. I stopped just before leaving the room because she was standing up. Several times I told her to sit down she was scaring mommy. Whether she sat or fell down on my pillows it propelled her sideways off the bed knocking her head on my nightstand cutting the bridge of her nose and bump/bruise under her left eye. I grabbed a Kleenex to staunch blood and took her on a walk around the block. She was mostly clam by the time we got back and her nose never bled that much. She was ready to eat and then was fine for the rest of the night. Thank goodness it wasn't worse!

Miriam the Hobbit

Miriam's honorary Aunt Heather (my best friend from high school, who also loves to spoil Miriam) made her this cute poncho for Christmas. Though it doesn't work in a car seat we have started using it for walks and jaunts to the mailbox. When we first put it on her when my family was visiting they all thought she looked like a little hobbit. She doesn't usually tolerate much for causal wear but it works good for quick outdoor visits which she loves. Thanks Aunt Heather!!!

The rest of Valentines

Eric took Miriam so I could sleep a little longer though that made breakfast very far away as we got to go help clean the church at 9. Busy getting Miriam and I ready plus we had a food drive to gather for as well. They didn't communicate real well we thought we would meet up with someone vacuuming down the 2 sides of the church but we got finished with the YW room and everyone was gone, it was dark- not a fun feeling to be abandoned! We came home and made homemade pink heart pancakes in honor of the day, ymmm. It seems next on the agenda was a family morning nap, yes! Later I went VTing, caught everybody and had a nice visit. Eric watched Miriam and they had a good time playing. Miriam even for the first time stacked 2 of the stacking cups on top of each other! They also went for a walk. We read a lot of "The Lion , The Witch, and The Wardrobe" together for a lot of the rest of the day. Had ham slice and baked potato for dinner and finished the day with Miriam and I taking a bath. Perhaps not the most exciting day but fun to be together.
Here is Miriam and I in our cute Valentine outfits with the flowers Eric surprised me with on Fri! I had been wishing for flowers (we don't have set expectations with flowers I get them at random times) but didn't think we would be able to afford the Then here comes 2 dozen multi colored perfect roses. I was so excited! Thanks sweetie!!!

Happy Valentines Day!

We've been having fun wearing pink and hearts all week thanks to my mom! We think the middle one is true she is way sweeter than chocolate! She even wore heart pjs. Unfortunately she has been battling a wicked cold most of the week and being cranky and using my shirt as her Kleenex- ah the joys of motherhood.;) Thiere are a couple more outfits plus I'll update on how we spent our Valentines tomorrow.

Miriam's Verbal update

Miriam is definitely getting more verbal. Last Fri we're pretty sure she was saying "dog" all day. She is acquainted with her yellow dog that lights up and plays music (her favorite Christmas present) and we met Amy's dog Cloe Fri. Miriam like the little energetic dog till there were too many kisses to the face. Of course dog sounded more like gwog but as consistent as it was it was a pretty sure bet. Then all weekend everything all day was "gwop". My family was here and we got a pretty big kick out of it but of course shes moved on now. Otherwise there isn't much consistent verbalization's only occasionally mums.

On another note we're constantly amazed at what her 2 little teeth can handle. She'll eat about anything we are (if shes in the mood of course). Fri an orange took her fancy that she found and before we knew there was a pretty good hole in the skin! What to do when her other teeth finally come in?! We're hoping that a low grade fever shes having means the top tooth might actually be coming in !

Miriam expresses her opinions

This last week Miriam has been quite cranky, I'm wondering if it is due to teething issues. Other than I'm going to tear my hair we getting along fine. Thank goodness my mom is here to divert her attention at times. In any case as we attempt to feed her she will very definitly show her opoinion of what she thinks of the food, if shes interested at all or if she is finished by giving a raspberry (sticking her tongue out). She is also starting to trow mini temper tantrums, save us! Once again thank goodness shes so cute!

You're such a tease!

Miriam loves to tease and to be teased. She would hold things out for you, and then pull it back at the last second. But then I discovered even better than that was when I would offer something to her, and then take it away before she was able to grab it! Wow, she has more fun with that, then if you give the item to her! The following video isn't as good as it could be, but still shows her love of being teased!
