Aaron's Checkups

In process of doing Rachel's checkups I noticed I hadn't ever done Aaron's 15 or 18 mon check up so here is Aaron in the last 10 months.

On November 15 Aaron had his 15 mon checkup (almost a year ago!) He weighed 22.6 lbs putting him in the 22% gaining 1.5 lbs in 3 months. He was 32.5 in tall putting him in the 87% growing 1.6 in over the last 3 months. Head circumference is 19 in putting him at 80% only grew.2 in but still a big head! At this time he was wearing a size 4 diaper, 5-6 size shoe, 12 mon shirts and 6-9 mon pants. Here are some of the things Aaron was doing in November. Its so funny now seeing that really curly hair and a pacifier in his mouth. Top left he is busy stacking cups, he has always been very advanced in his motor skills. Top left Aaron decided to make pancakes all by himself and has always liked helping in the kitchen and holding utensils. Bottom left he is letting Eric know what he wants by pointing. Even though he hasn't said more than 2 or 3 words at this point we still know what he wants. He is sitting at the kitchen table because around this point he decided to be like sister who was too big for the high chair. Drats! Bottom right he is helping Eric take out some garbage, he loves to help even though he has to continue to hold the spatula.

Aaron had he's 18 mon checkup on February 15. He weighed 24.4 lbs putting him at 30% gaining 1.8 lbs in 3 mon. He is 32.75 in tall at the 64% growing .25 in. His head is 19.25 in around putting him in the 80%. He wears size 4 diaper still, 5-6 shoe, clothes between 12-18 mon with onesies and pants 6-9 mon. He's still not saying much. Above he is in his cowboy clothes from Grandma Delta on February 12.

Miriam and Aaron continue to be great friends and for the most part play really well together. Here they are on Feb 16 playing outside on first really warm day.

Though like most kids he still gets into things sometimes even without Miriam like this time that he played in the flour, completely covering himself. When I saw him (Feb 17) I wondered when he became a ghost!

Aaron absolutely looves berries and particularly strawberries. We were fearful that he would pick them all too soon but overall he has waited for Daddy to tell him which ones he can pick. June brought lots of berries for him.

July 16 Aaron fell asleep doing one of his most favorite things- reading books. He will listen to quite long stories and many stories for 1/2 hr to an hour if we could read that long. I often find both he and Miriam looking at books together. He was a little slower to get into books than Miriam but has more than caught up now. He also loves coloring and will do it way longer than Miriam will. For his 2 year check up Aaron weighed 28.22 lbs putting him in the 54% gaining 3.82 lbs in 6 months. He is 34 in tall putting him at the 40% growing 1.25 in. At this point our Dr stops measuring head circumference though I know he has a big head. Aaron is still wearing size 4 diapers though I'm trying to get up the umph to make a potty training effort for him. He wears 5-6 shoe (why are boys shoes so hard to put on?!?), and 12-18 month clothes though he can still fit in 6-9 mon pants and onesies. We have since in the last 6 wk gone to mostly 2T clothes so he is continually growing. The Dr was concerned that he wasn't talking much and in particular putting 2 words together so we were referred to Kids Who Count program to see if he needed some interventions. After 3 different evaluations we discover he is a smart cookie understanding way more than he can express also very far developed physically. Because of the big difference between understanding and expressing we could have a speech therapist in but for now we will just have them check in with us and track his progress. The picture above shows Aaron on July 17 lining up his trains carefully (reminds me of myself- I always had to organize things just so). He likes Thomas the tank engine and Lightning McQueen. He doesn't mind playing dolls or anything else with his sister.
